"ox- eye daisy"
initial watercolour wash
32 x 41 cm
300g/m2 canson fontenay
painted from life
...our top field is a mass of wild flowers at the moment ....posting an initial watercolour wash of a single wild daisy which I painted outside this week .
There's such an ethereal quality to this ... one would anticipate fairies lurk in that field, Jane.
RispondiEliminaI'm really into wild flowers - it's almost possible to write a poem using their names alone.
Ox-eye daisy - I wait to see what you may do with it, although it works for me as it is.
Wow, such a lovely way of painting this lovely little flower!
RispondiEliminayour flower paintings are so lovely and subtle. wonderful.
RispondiEliminaJane, I want to paint like you when (if) I grow up!!!
RispondiEliminaJane, I always admire the constraint you use when painting. You know when to stop before giving too much detail, yet we can see clearly the subject. That gives your watercolors such a lovely soft quality.

Jane - your style is so beautifully free. Any tips for someone tied to precision with a longing to break free?
RispondiEliminaLove this splash of colour.
RispondiEliminaJane this is so gorgeous. Very delicate and great job done with yellow. Not an easy colour to get tonal variation with. Just lovely.

Leave it be. The allusiveness of the flower is poetic--speaks volumes--no more needs to be said to make the beauty of this flower clearer.
RispondiEliminaHi Jane. This is such a wonderful integration of the flower with the background. I love it!
