Hi, Jane,
RispondiEliminaBrilliant!!!
Cheers,Sadami
It looks really effective. I see it as a cliff face with lots of foliage on the top! I love all your textual experiments :0)
RispondiEliminaGreat experiment, beautiful colours!
RispondiEliminaHello Jane:) This is beautiful! I see a big lake, rocks and trees? How ever: a lot of texture. Very nice colors. Great work!
RispondiEliminaI don't know anything about gesso - would love to know more about this technique you've used , it looks great
RispondiEliminaInteresante textura, me gusta.
RispondiEliminaJane, this is beautiful. I have used this technique with acrylics, but never thought of trying it with watercolors. Thank you for sharing.
RispondiEliminammmmm looks fabulous!! My first impression was that it was glass jars filled with flowers reflecting onto a shiny table:)
RispondiEliminaTissue does add interesting dimension. This experiment came out quite well.
RispondiEliminaExperimenting is fun. Have you ever read any of Ann Blockley's books on creating textures with watercolors?
RispondiEliminaJean
I love it, Jane! What a fascinating painting. The textures and colors are wonderful.
RispondiEliminahi sadami glad you like it ... thankyou
RispondiEliminathanks sandra for telling me what you can see ... welldone on being shortlisted !
hi judy thanks...have been experimenting alot .
hi renate ..i like what you can see..thankyou
hi sharon ..there are many references of artist using gesso and gesso and tissue paper you might find these references interesting :
john lovett
http://www.artgraphica.net/free-art-lessons/watercolor/watercolor-balcony-demonstration.html
nick simmons http://www.artgraphica.net/free-art-lessons/watercolor/painting-large-watercolors.html...
i used white tissue on top of watercolour paper here and applied gesso on the top of it ...let it dry and then applied watercolour ... ...gesso can make beautiful surface textures if applied to watercolour paper in small areas (you can see it on a bamboo painting excercise i did )...coloured tissue without gesso is also beautiful .
i mentioned ann blockley and john blockley in a previous post ..shirley trevena is a great ref too.
hello sergio thankyou !
christiane thanks i've a lot to learn can see lots of potential esp with buildings façades etc... i'll have to try it with acrylics
hi cynnie like your interpretation thankyou.
hi linda it certainly does ..need to make many more swatches ..it's a start.
hi jean ..i love experimenting ...yes i have..i mentioned ann's book as a reference in a previous post on gesso and watercolour.
hi katharyn interesting doing these swatches ...end result isn't that important at the moment ..thankyou
Non ho mai provato cose di questo genere, ma devo dire che il risultato è molto bello e interessante. Complimenti Jane! Ciao.
RispondiEliminaHello Jane. What wonderful paintings you make. Gesso + watercolors, beautiful final. I think to see mountains and reflect in water, is it ok?. It is brilliant. Warm regards
RispondiEliminahope you try tito ! grazie mille
RispondiEliminasounds good eva... thankyou :)
That is fantastic Jane. For a minute I thought it was glass jars with lights inside. I love it. :)
RispondiEliminaThis is sooo interesting! I love your experiments, Jane!
RispondiEliminaThis is something I do far too little of - experimenting. Looks like great fun.
RispondiEliminaHave also done a bit of experimenting with tissue paper......great fun, did some ducks and a tree trunk ages ago... seeing this has reminded me how effective it is especially if we're looking for texture in our work
RispondiEliminaWow! It's like a fairy mangrove ... Absolutely blooming amazing!
RispondiEliminaI'm back, by the way!
