  4. Jane your curiosity is commendable. It takes a lot of energy to explore textures the way you do. I admire that.

  5. Interesting to use gravel and sand. I know they have acrylic mediums that use sand and gritty things but I wouldn't have thought to just use the real stuff! It created some very nice shapes and textures - wonder about the lasting effects? Will it adhere to the paper for a long time? Will it change the colors over time? I always think of those things but sometimes you just have to play and try it :)

  8. Jane, ma che bello e interessante l'effetto della ghiaia e della sabbia. Prima o poi dovrò decidermi a provarli! Grazie per l'info! Ciao.

  9. I like the textures achieved with natural substances. The contrast in the colour is lovely and reminds me of the shore line.

I've used sand a number of times in watercolour paintings and like the softer effect it gives as opposed to salt.

  14. Interesante textura. ¿La arena queda bien fijada o hay que fijarla con laca o similar?

  15. sergio thanks for your suggestion ....prehaps a sealant or fixative would be a good idea with the sand
