judith many thanks .. both John Blockley and Ann Blockley's work with gesso and collage is inspiring .
I see you've been playing with your toys again. Wish I could achieve what you do when I play with mine... :-) Your enjoyment and talent shines through with each piece you tackle.
RispondiEliminaI have often wondered whether watercolour would actually adhere to Gesso. Clearly it does! What an interesting result too :0)
RispondiEliminalaura ..as long as you enjoy experimenting results aren't that important ..lots of mine end in disaster ..thanks for looking .
RispondiEliminasandra try it....the watercolour makes beautiful effects on the surface of the gesso when painting on it .... you can "lift off" the watercolour easily ... i have used it in the past to add textures to only a small section of watercolour painting .
Is this a Turner ... or a Minter ? Beautiful evocative piece Jane ... thanks for sharing your methods!
RispondiEliminadefinitely a Turner and a wonderful landscape!
RispondiEliminaReally like this piece. I've been experimenting with gesso ever since buying Ann Blockley's book on textures. Have not had anything worth posting yet thought. This one is really interesting. Well done.
