......posting a few of my first plein air watercolour sketches of the New Year .... there was very little snow at the beginning of the week in the mountains the cold grey overcast sky enhanced the colours of the trees .... it was a treat to sketch outside .... ongoing challenge.

These are so lovely--with the freshness and (apparent) ease that makes watercolors so appealing. You continue to inspire me to try to paint more wet-in-wet ... my ongoing challenge.

Jane, absolutely beautiful. Really love the first one the way the white really carries the painting playing of against the muted and soft trees and atmosphere.
Lovely, atmospheric paintings Jane. They really provide a feel of the mountains and the season.
Absolutely lovely Jane! I got fingerless gloves for Christmas-maybe I'll use them to paint outside! These are inspiring little paintings.

I love these landscapes - so much depicted with so simple means!
I recognize the colors and values of Moscow 6 months winter here.. I hope the sun will shine over Alps soon. Great knowledge of watercolor here, as always.
Oh my that looks a chilly thing to do in winter. I think my fingers would freeze. Brave you. Great paintings. Love the misty blends and colours.
