This is probably the best way a water colorist could spend their time! I don't know how you did it but you make me want to try and duplicate it. Love the idea of a bunch of washes.

oh thankyou skizo .

hello carrie see you love painting i'm really enjoying these washes..i'm one of a group of seven artist participating in on maggie latham's one hundred washes challenge blog ... hope you have a look at the blog... the link is http://onehundrdwashes.blogspot.com ...will try and explain :) i was painting outside i worked quickly as it is very hot here ... i wet the paper with water leaving some dry areas added cad orange and colbalt violet
moved and tilted the paper gently ...whilst the paper was still damp i added denser pigment colbalt violet ,van dkye, cad orange on the horizon ... dropped in clear water in the top section with paper flat .. and lifted some pigment with clear water below ..went back into the horizon whilst it was still damp with clear water ..i enjoyed watching the textures and forms that were created and left from the water ...i moved and tilted the paper ...i gently added some detail in the horizon ..i like alot of the things that happened ... thankyou for visiting my blog carrie and your kind comment .
