......making homemade "Green Walnut Liqueur" . "Nocino" is traditionally made here in Italy on 24th June...below are a few studies of walnuts which I've made throughout the year ...yet to paint the unripe green walnuts .

thought you might judy thankyou... it's similar to "amaro" a "digestivo" medicinal ! quite bitter

thankyou renate ..hulls are challenging to paint .

jeanette thankyou so much... the bottle is already turning black ..."nocino" is very syrupy and dark brown almost black ..an aquired taste :)... we added lemon rind gloves cinnamon to alcohol sugar and walnuts ...will let you know in 12 months how our nocino tastes !

I think I like the paintings more than the bitter liquer :) Very interesting, though, I'd never heard of this. Perhaps a painting of the bottle when it's ready?
