"watercolour wash + ink"
watercolour + ink ii
watercolour + ink ii
Maggie has prompted me to carry on exploring with ink and washes when she asked if i was going to add ink marks to my last wash . Here is a recent bright watercolour wash which I randomly wet the surface of and just poured ink on ....a few drips formed they reminded me of the tall lombardy popular trees..I liked how the ink pigment sedimented where I added extra water at the top ....I could have probably added a little extra detail as it was drying.
Maggie Latham is currently posting a wonderful series of ink wash tutorials on her blog

I like how you have used your wash and with some simple ink turned this into a really lovely piece. Will revist Maggies tips on this and maybe give it a try
Great!
Love this one Jane , and you are right about the trees, look like populars.
Beautiful result! it is always so interesting to follow your experiments
They really are reminiscent of poplars, Jane. They have a lovely early evening feel to them. Gorgeous.
So very interesting......Fun, isn't it........
This is a beautiful tranquil painting, and very interesting use of ink.
It is one of those paintings that makes you feel calm and relaxed... Therapeutic is probably the word I'm looking for! :0)
No me atrevo a mezclar tinta y acuarela, siempre creo que voy a estropear el cuadro.
Sin embargo tú dominas la técnica.
Buen resultado.
