Shakesphere wrote his tradegy Romeo and Juilet (1596)  based on the novel of  Luigi Da Porto ( 1485 - 1529) of Vicenza   . The castles of Romeo and Juilet built  in 975 are claimed to be the inspiration for Luigi Da Porto's novel and legend of Romeo and Juilet.

This is a superb painting Jane. I adore the contrast between the soft, almost misty trees, and the straight edges of the castle tower. And you've certainly captured that romantic atmosphere that possibly inspired Da Porto. Beautiful.

hi jane grazie ..in the watercolour course i've attended we've painted lots of landscape paintings from photos ...now with the warmer weather i wanted to paint outside and just start consolidating what i've learnt in the lessons and pratice "step by step" as i have done here.
