....."childhood memories" i was given this very small timber orange spinning top as a child in turn both my daughters have played with it ..i found it yesterday so made quite a few quick sketches ..here are a couple of initial sketches  not sure if they look like a spinning tops but exploring the movement with washes ...still love watching it spin.

Oh those simple toys... Weren't they just the best? I often think our children have missed out so much on the imagination side of playing thanks to the electronic era. Oh well, it's nice to see some of them are still in use! And I love the sketch too. It does look like a spinning top :0)

Not also sure of it looks like a spinning top :) but everyone can see what he wants, for me it's more a sweet treat, because of the lovely and bright orange. Kisses.

I think the same Lydie does. Your colours are great. The last posts are great, too. The berrys the best. I'm a "fan" of your paintings

Funny how spinning tops are hypnotic to watch. Love the colours you've used her and I can see motion, so a top for me, not a sweetie :) xx

I am really forced to look closely at this wonderful painting. It has that lost and found wash and magical appeal... as do all of your paintings. I am diligently trying to master this extremely difficult technique. At least on some of my paintings. I always follow my heart which has led to quite a few failed paintings lately. It must be part of my learning curve:)

Beautiful colors (I love orange and purple together!), and the crisp little whites contrasting with the wet washes really make these stunning!
